Non-compressible torso hemorrhage (NCTH): hemorrhage that arises from trauma to the torso vessels, pulmonary parenchyma, solid abdominal organs, and/or disruption of the bony pelvis resulting in hypotension or shock. It is also referred to as truncal hemorrhage.

Resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA): a minimally invasive technique used by the Trauma, Critical Care and Emergency Medicine community to temporarily occlude large vessels in support of hemorrhage control.
